HASTINGS (KSNB) - Mary Lanning Healthcare recently installed a new, state-of-the-art PET (Positron Emission Tomography) scanner.
The new equipment means PET CT scans are available at least five days a week to patients in the region. Previously, PET CT imaging was done at MLH via a mobile unit that was only available on certain days of the week.
Tami Lipker, MLH Director of Diagnostic Imaging, said the new on-site tool gives healthcare providers the ability to get their patients screened sooner and indoors, rather than in a trailer.
“Adding this state-of-the-art technology, along with our caring, skilled staff, is a huge benefit to patients in the region,” Lipker said. “We are happy to provide advanced imaging services with better patient care right here at home.”
